This coloring book isn’t just art, it’s a living archive and celebration of grassroots leaders. This is more than a coloring book — it’s a tribute. Each page features a local grassroots leader who is rarely recognized but does the essential heavy lifting in equity, justice, and community care.Every featured leader designed their own coloring page — drawing from their work, passions, or creative vision. Alongside their portrait, you’ll find their name and contact information so you can connect, support, and learn from the people who are actively building a better world.Sunshine's coloring book not only features portraits of grassroots leaders, it's also a community history and education tool. It's a book that honors the past and present changemakers in Tacoma.
“Displaced: Sunshine’s Story - The Beginning” is a powerful journey into resilience, injustice, and truth-telling.This film uncovers the realities and the human cost of displacement and erasure all the while honoring the strength of a young girl and her family story as a mirror of many. Recognizing the resilience it takes to reclaim one’s story, this movie is a true reflection of community, history, and the fight for dignity. It reveals how systems uproot lives - and through Sunshine’s eyes, we witness both the pain of loss and the unbreakable will to rise.Lifting up Sunshine’s voice is a testament to courage, power, and the fight for justice. Sunshine’s story asks us: what does it mean to be home?
